The Public Safety Commission performs an
advisory role in formulating recommendations pertaining to law enforcement,
crime prevention and control, code enforcement, animal control and emergency
preparedness.
There are seven members as follows: four Duarte residents, one business
owner/operator (not required to be a Duarte resident), nominated or
recommended by the Duarte Chamber of Commerce; one Duarte Unified School
District representative (not required to be a Duarte resident) nominated or recommended
by the School District Board or Superintendent; and one member from
the following candidates: resident of the unincorporated area adjacent to
Duarte within the Duarte Unified School District boundary, representative of
the Monrovia Arcadia Duarte Town Council (not required to be a Duarte resident),
representative from the Los Angeles County Supervisor's office (not required
to be a Duarte resident) or representative of the Los Angles County Human Relations
Commission (not required to be a Duarte resident)
