General Plan: Building a New vision
General Plan 2005-2020

City of Duarte Housing The Comprehensive General Plan is a policy document which is long range and general in nature. It is comprehensive in that it addresses every aspect of a community from future land uses, retention of open spaces, traffic and circulation challenges, conservation of natural resources, community noise issues, safety concerns, and housing needs and supply. Along with the seven mandatory elements required by State law, the Duarte General Plan Update also includes a Historic Preservation Element and an Economic Development Element. California law requires that zoning, subdivisions, Capital Improvement Projects and many other local implementation tools be consistent with the General Plan. On August 14, 2007 the Duarte City Council certified the associated Environment Impact Report and adopted the Duarte Comprehensive General Plan for the years 2005 through 2020.

The following documents make up the 2005-2020 General Plan in its entirety.
