The Duarte City Council voted at its July 24th City Council meeting to put a measure prohibiting the sale of and discharge of legal fireworks starting in 2019 before the voters on the upcoming November 2018 ballot.
- Over the past year, residents and other community members have expressed significant concern regarding the sale and detonation of both legal and illegal fireworks in the City. In response to this concern, the City Council has discussed its current Fireworks ordinance at several City Council meetings in 2018. During the June 26th, proponents on each side of the potential ballot measure were given a ten-minute presentation period.
