The City of Duarte operates on a fiscal year basis, from July 1st through June 30th of the following year. The annual budget is developed each year in March through May and is adopted in June by City Council for the following fiscal year. Additionally, the City works with independent auditors each year to review financial activities and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The City also reports compliant financial data relevant to the City’s operation for each year to the State Controller’s Office. The State requires the report to be completed by the end of September each year, and is available to the public on their website.
