The City of Duarte offers a competitive benefit package to employees. Qualified employees receive enrollment in CalPERS retirement based on appointment date and membership status with CalPERS, generous City contribution to medical insurance, City-paid dental, vision, and short and long-term disability insurances. Other benefits include a City-paid Employee Assistance Plan (EAP), life insurance in an amount equal to employee’s annual salary, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave. Deferred compensation plans, credit union, tuition reimbursement, and computer loan program are also available to qualified City employees.

Part-time employees who are ineligible for CalPERS retirement enrollment will be enrolled in PARS, an alternative to Social Security. Questions regarding PARS enrollment, distribution, or account balances can be directed to PARS Administrators at (800) 540-6369.
