All dogs over the age of 4 months are required to be licensed. A rabies vaccination certificate, which is valid for the entire licensing period, and a certificate of sterility (if applicable) are required to license your pet. License fees are $25 for spayed and neutered pets, or $60 for unaltered pets. Licenses are due annually on July 1st. Seniors over the age of 65 are entitled to one free license per household for a spayed or neutered dog. Licenses may be purchased at the Public Safety Office (Cash, Check or Credit Card) or at Duarte City Hall (Cash, Check, or Credit Card). Licenses purchased after August 31st are subject to a $60.00 penalty.
Although cats are not required to have licenses in Duarte, cat owners may purchase a license to help ensure the return of your furry friend should it become lost. Cat license fees are $20 if spayed or neutered, and $40 for non-neutered cats.
