Grant for City of Duarte’s Encanto Nature Walk Bioswale Project
The City of Duarte has received a $507,990 grant from the
San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountain Conservancy (RMC) to
develop the Encanto Nature Walk Bioswale project.

Women in Law Enforcement Day
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department will be hosting a recruitment day for woman to join the ranks of
deputy sheriff on June 28, 2008, 9am to 2pm at STARS Center. There will
be testing and information about what is necessary to become a deputy.

Wilderness Day at Fish Canyon
Duarte families are invited to experience one of the most beautiful, local, natural waterfalls. On
Sat, April 19, the Vulcan Rock Quarry will open their gates to the original Fish Canyon Trail.

Duarte Senior Center Support Troops
The Duarte Senior Center is collecting old cell phones to support our troops in the Middle
East by helping "Cell Phone For Soldiers" collect cell phones to turn
into phone cards for soldiers.
