Youth & Family Master Plan
Increasingly cities throughout the nation are being asked to address the needs of youth and families. The City of Duarte recently completed an 10-month long Youth and Family Master Planning process at a cost of $35,000. Supported by a consultant, and city staff, the process led by a community based advisory Committee determined a vision statement and goals, developed and conducted a youth and community participation process, developed an understanding of the issues impacting youth and families, and reviewed existing services. The committee's work also developed a measurable Action Plan consisting of over 60 strategies to guide the City of Duarte, the Duarte Unified School District, community organizations, and others over the next five to ten years regarding youth and family programs, services, and facilities.
