"Honor Among the Ashes” City of Duarte Honors the 8th Anniversary of 9-11
A tree dedication and memorial flower ceremony remembering September 11th “Honor Among Ashes – A Memorial Tribute to the victims of 9/11,” will be held Friday, Sept. 11th at 8:30 a.m. in the City of Duarte on the grounds of Beardslee Elementary School located at 1212 Kelwill Way in Duarte. The public is invited to share a time of inspiration and reflection in a ceremony that will include representatives from the City, School, County and State, and members of the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
Students from Beardslee School will help plant and dedicate an Oak tree in adjoining Beardslee Park, donated by the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts. The tree will serve as a living memorial to all who perished on that tragic day in 2001. Students will also be singing patriotic songs and participating in a memorial flower Ceremony.
