Duarte Teen Center to Host “Teen Talk” Forum, Sept. 12

Teen Talk, the next in a series of open forums for teens to discuss issues that are most important to them, and be heard by community leaders and other teens, will be held at the Duarte Teen Center, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12. The Teen Center is located at 1400 Buena Vista St. The program is free and open to teens 13 to 19 years of age.

Dr. Chunsheng Bai, an expert in intercultural communications and a professor of communication studies at California State University at Los Angeles, will help facilitate the discussion.

The Teen Talk program helps introduce teens to community leaders and guest speakers who can listen to their concerns, give direction, and act as mentors. It helps identify the needs of the participants and guide them to services that are available in the City. It also provides a constructive and supportive network for teens and encourages hem to become active in the community.
