Duarte Gold Station Unveiling Set
An unveiling of the Duarte station in concert with the extension of the Metro Gold Line from Pasadena out to Azusa has been set for Saturday, January 30th, 2010 at 10:00 am to the east of the City of Hope main entrance located at 1500 East Duarte Road.
The family friendly celebration will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the unveiling ceremony scheduled for 10:20 a.m.
Work is expected to begin on the Line in early in June, 2010 and is expected to create thousands of new jobs, increase economic investment and more public transit options in the area. The proposed center platform station will be located along Duarte Road, approximately 500 feet west of Highland Avenue. Funds for this project are coming from the monies generated by Measure R which increased sales taxes by a half cent. . Metro and Gold Line Construction Authority leadership and local elected officials will join community members to commemorate this milestone achievement for the City.
