Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority Announces Community Open House in Duarte
The Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority is hosting one of three local Open Houses in the City of Duarte on March 16th at the Duarte Community Center from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
The forum is designed to update the community on the anticipated Foothill Extension's June 2010 groundbreaking including specifics on the construction timing, station plans and art, proposed bus and pedestrian connections and more.
Open Houses will offer multiple stations to facilitate one-on-one questions and conversations between project representatives and the community. Residents will also have the opportunity to sign up for ongoing project updates offered by the Authority. No formal presentation is planned so community members are welcome to come anytime during the two-hour timeframe.
The Foothill Extension to Azusa will extend the Metro Gold Line light rail line nearly 12 miles; adding six stations in Arcadia, Monrovia, Duarte, Irwindale and Azusa. Funded by Metro through Measure R, the Gold Line to Azusa will break ground in June 2010 and be completed in December of 2013. Interested stakeholders can also sign up to receive updates or information about the upcoming open houses through the Authorities website www.foothillextension.org or by calling (626) 471-9050.
