Duarte Promise; The Alliance for Youth announces its annual recruitment for AmeriCorp VIP Promise Fellows beginning in late June, 2010. Since 2010, the program has recruited more than 25 local youth for this service capacity whose main mission is to provide the “Five Promises” to local youth ages 0 to 18. Differing from previous years, VIP AmeriCorp Fellows will be heavily involved in increasing the number of volunteers needed for services projects throughout the community. The position offers a wonderful opportunity to develop leadership, community organizing, and youth work skills. Requirements will be a full time, one-year commitment with a minimum of 1700 hours that may include evenings and weekends. In order to qualify, you must be at least 17 years of age, clear a criminal background check, obtain CPR certification, and be able work well with others on a team.
