Soundwall Construction Starts
City of Duarte, Duarte school district and Caltrans officials celebrated the start of part two of construction of a soundwall project along the north side of the 210 freeway. The approximate half-mile project funded by Metro and constructed by Caltrans is slated to be completed including landscaping installation by Spring 2011. The 14-foot high freeway wall to run between Highland Ave.
and approximately 40-feet past the Duncannon bridge structure will offer much needed freeway noise relief to Duarte High School and Northview Middle School. The project is estimated to cost about $ 2.3 million. The firm of O’Donnell Construction Inc. of San Dimas has been selected as the project’s general contractor.
