National Night Out

Duarte's Night Out Against Crime!

National Night Out: Tuesday, August 4th, 2015

Plan to join neighbors throughout the community on Tuesday, Aug. 4 in celebration of Duarte's Night Out Against Crime in conjunction with the 34th Annual National Night Out. Last year Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies and firefighters, alongside Duarte Public Safety personnel and elected officials mingled with Duarte residents at 11  area parties.

Neighborhood Watch Blocks celebrated over barbecues, potlucks, ice cream socials, pool parties, and block parties. Duarte was one of over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide who participated in National Night Out 2014.

This year the City of Duarte's National Night Out celebration will be celebrated at Encanto Park with a free BBQ dinner and an outdoor movie for all to enjoy.  Duarte's Night Out Against Crime is a great way to start or reinvigorate your Neighborhood Watch Program and get acquainted with both new, and longtime neighbors.

We also will take this opportunity to give back to the less fortunate in our community. A canned food drive will be held in conjunction with National Night Out. Last year this effort generated over 500 canned and dry goods. Donations will be picked up and delivered to the nonprofit Duarte Community Service Council, which provides services to Duarte families in need.

This collaborative effort would not be possible without our Neighborhood Watch Volunteers, Target, L. A. County Fire, and our greatest supporter, the L. A. County Sheriff's Department.
