$1.85 Million Year-Long Overhaul of
San Gabriel River Bridge Update
DUARTE, CA, January 25, 2012 – The San Gabriel River Bridge, a heavily trafficked thoroughfare linking Huntington Dr. in Duarte and Foothill Blvd. in Irwindale, continues its $1.85 million structural improvement and repair project which began September 19th of last year. Effective Monday, January 30, 2012 the Stage 2 detour will go into effect which changes deliniation marks yet still maintains one lane in each traffic direction.
Additional signage has been placed on Encanto Parkway to alert drivers of this change.
Funded and managed by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, the project is expected to take approximately 240 working days to complete. (The construction company hopes to reduce that to 190.) Heavy traffic congestion is expected during peak commuter hours and motorists are advised to take alternate routes. In the event of a SIG alert on the 210 freeway in this vicinity, both CALTRANS and the California Highway Patrol will divert as much traffic as possible to the 605 Freeway and Arrow Highway. For more information, contact the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, (800) 675-4357.
