Youth Leadership Summit Announced February 25th
Jobs, Volunteerism and Peer Pressure among Topics

DUARTE, CA, February 23, 2012 – More than 300 teens will participate in the second annual Duarte/Monrovia Youth Leadership Summit co-hosted by the Duarte Mayor’s Youth Council and Monrovia Youth Council on Saturday, February 25. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Santa Fe Middle School, 148 W. Duarte Rd., Monrovia. Registration is free.
Among the topics of discussion will be: How to get to college, How to get a job, Healthy Relationships, Money Talks, Volunteerism, Peer Pressure and Bullying, How to Start your own Business, and Social Media.
City of Duarte Mayor John Fasana and Monrovia Mayor Mary Ann Lutz, will be among the featured speakers. Breakfast and lunch will also be served. Sponsors of the event are the City of Duarte, City of Monrovia, Duarte Unified School District, Monrovia Unified School District, Burrtec Waste, Athens Disposal, Duarte Kiwanis Club, SCE Federal Credit Union and Foothill Federal Credit Union.
