Duarte to Honor Veterans in Ceremony
At Thorsen Park on Nov. 10
DUARTE, CA., November 2, 2011— Veterans, families of those currently serving, and the general public will join Congressmember Judy Chu and Assemblymember Anthony Portantino for a special Veterans Day ceremony sponsored by the City of Duarte and Duarte’s Promise -- The Alliance for Youth at Thorsen Park, Thursday, Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. Thorsen Park is located at the northeast corner of Huntington Dr. and Encanto Parkway.
Retired U.S. Navy Chaplain and Duarte resident, Capt. Richard C. Hettish, who served during the Vietnam War, will be the featured guest speaker. To ensure that Duarte veterans are personally remembered and thanked for their service at the ceremony, veterans and their families are invited to provide City Hall with those names so that they can be acknowledged at the ceremony.
