Duarte’s Promise and Performance Nissan Team

for Annual Red Wagon Scholarship Program

DUARTE, CA., May 4, 2012 – Duarte's Promise — The Alliance for Youth and Performance Nissan will team up this year to recognize four outstanding Duarte high school graduating seniors for their service and dedication to the community with scholarships to college.

Duarte's Promise annual Red Wagon Scholarship selection process kicks off in May.  Four students from Duarte High School and Mount Olive Alternative High School will be honored with $250 scholarships at the Duarte High Schools Senior Breakfast on June 12. Red Wagon Scholarships are awarded to graduating seniors who exhibit dedicated community service on and off the campus as well as strong academic skills. This year’s sponsor, Performance Nissan of Duarte, will present winners with certificates at the breakfast.

The annual Red Wagon Scholarship presentation is one of the many special programs, projects, and events sponsored by Duarte’s Promise — The Alliance for Youth. As a Community of Promise, Duarte through Duarte's Promise works to deliver the five promises set forth by America's Promise: Caring Adults, Safe Places and Structured After School Activities, Healthy Start, Opportunities to Serve and Developing Marketable Skills for Duarte youth 18 years and under.
