DUARTE RECOGNIZES MARY PAT PADDOCK AS SENIOR CENTER VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR


DUARTE, CA, May 26, 2015 – The Duarte City Council recognized Mary Pat Paddock at the May 12th meeting as the City of Duarte Senior Center Volunteer of the Year for her outstanding efforts and positive contribution to the greater Duarte community.  The following week, on May 21st, Paddock was also recognized by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors at their annual Older Americans Recognition Day celebration.

SCAQMD Air Quality Open House Recap


DUARTE, CA – Over 40 residents attended an Air Quality Presentation and Open House hosted by both the City of Duarte and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) on May 5, 2015. SCAQMD representatives met with local residents to provide valuable information about the air quality findings around their homes based on two air monitoring stations; one located in Duarte and the other in Azusa.

Water Conservation in Duarte


How do the new Statewide water conservation regulations affect Duarte residents? Water in  Duarte is supplied by California American Water Company’s Los Angeles Service District; an urban supplier.  The conservation savings for all urban water suppliers are allocated across nine tiers. Duarte is part of Tier 7 requiring a conservation level of 28%.

DUARTE RALPH'S TO CLOSE IN JULY


DUARTE, CA - The City received formal notice from the Ralph’s Grocery Company on April 30th that it will be closing the Duarte location in July, 2015. This is a corporate decision by Ralph’s based on a variety of different business factors including that the Duarte Market was consistently one of its lowest performing stores and that many who shop at this store do a portion of shopping elsewhere, making the current model in the City not sustainable.

Train Testing to Begin Friday April 17th
