DUARTE, CA, August 16, 2016 –Saturday, Sept. 24th, festival-goers are encouraged to join the great festivities at the “Duarte’s 59 and Feeling Fine” annual Picnic and Classic Car Show celebrating Duarte’s 59th Anniversary of Incorporation at Royal Oaks Park, 2627 Royal Oaks Drive from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This year’s event features a new beer and wine garden.
The fun kicks off at the City Picnic at 10:00am where the public is invited to enjoy dozens craft and game booths and several delicious food booths including Filipino menu items, BBQ ribs, pizza, tacos and much more provided by local Duarte community non-profit organizations. The event also features a inflatable attraction park and two entertainment stages; one for children and families and the other main stage featuring an exciting, live performance by LA Vation; the greatest U2 tribute band in the world. Youngsters and their parents can enjoy a variety of special entertainment performed on the Family Stage, including Chumis the Clown, an adjacent, free arts and crafts area, the Healthy Duarte nutrition and exercise area complete with fruit stand, a mini-carnival games area, and many more fun activities and attractions. Local elementary students, parents and teachers are invited to participate and visit the DUSD booths featuring school mascots with a photo booth, the new Orange County School of Arts display and meet and greet with some of your school principals. All students who wear a school shirt or related shirt will be able to get a discount at food booths displaying a blue star!
Car enthusiasts and the whole family can partake in the Classic Car Show across from Royal Oaks Park. The car show offers an opportunity to take a close-up look at some of the most beautiful antique and classic cars in Southern California. Additionally, an antique engine display featuring a variety of working engines and motors will also be on display.
