DUARTE ROAD PEDESTRIAN UPGRADES UNVEILING, APRIL 11th at 5:00 PM
DUARTE, CA, MARCH 28, 2017 – Biking and walking to and from the Duarte/City of Hope Gold Line Station just got a lot easier for Duarte residents with the addition of new sidewalks, lighting, landscaping, directional signs and bike lanes. Join Duarte officials on April 11th as they celebrate these pedestrian upgrades in an unveiling ceremony at the Duarte/City of Hope Gold Line Station Parking Lot starting at 5:00 pm.
The recently completed project was constructed along the north side of Duarte Rd. from Hope Dr. to Mountain Ave. and along Highland Ave. from Business Center Dr. to Evergreen St. Project improvements were made possible by grant funding from METRO as part of the 2014 State Active Transportation Program.
The project also includes wayfinding (directional) signs throughout the City to direct travelers to points of interest; especially those riding the Gold Line into the community. The City also funded a companion project constructing new City entrance signs scheduled for installation during Summer of 2017.
