DUARTE DAY AT THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY FAIR TO HAPPEN SEPTEMBER 13
DUARTE CA, JULY 18, 2017- The City of Duarte invites the Duarte community to join the official “Duarte Day” Celebration at the Los Angeles County Fair on Wednesday, September 13th. In partnership with the Cities of Monrovia, La Verne, and the MAD communities, Duarteans will be able to come together to celebrate our “Community Hero” and join in a fun-filled community parade starting at 5:00 pm.
Long-time volunteer and former Mayor, Lois Gaston, will be recognized as the 2017 Duarte “Community Hero” during the annual “Heroes Ceremony” kicking off at 3:00 pm. Gaston was selected for her 40-year commitment to the community, exhibited by tireless dedication and endless hours of volunteering. Shortly afterwards, the Duarte, Monrovia, Ls Verne and MAD Community parade starts at 5:00 pm featuring our very own Duarte High School Marching Band and cheerleaders.
The Los Angeles County Fairgrounds are located at 1101 West McKinley Avenue Pomona, CA 91768. Duarte residents, with a coupon will receive a discounted entrance rate to the Fair grounds for $8.00 for adults and children (original price: $20 for adults and $16 for children). Copies of the coupon will be available at Duarte City Hall, Duarte Library, Duarte Chamber of Commerce, local Duarte businesses and in the Duarte City News.
