Gold Line Street Closure, July 9 & 10


Duarte, CA - The new roadway surface on Mountain Ave, just north of Duarte Rd, will receive new, permanent striping as part of the 11.5-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project. This work requires a nighttime full closure of Mountain Ave north of Duarte Rd. On Thursday, July 9, 2015, at 8:00 p.m. to Friday, July 10, 2015, at 6:00 a.m.: Mountain Ave will be closed to thru-traffic from Duarte Rd north through the railroad crossing. All lanes of Duarte Rd will remain open.

Neighborhood Watch Meeting @ Encanto Park July 9th

NEW DRIVE-THROUGH STARBUCKS TO DEBUT IN DUARTE


DUARTE, CA, June 18, 2015 – Duarte Coffee lovers have something to stir about. The City will soon have a new state of the art Starbucks drive-through on the northwest corner of Huntington Drive and Buena Vista Street.  The 1,850 square foot location will fill a key corner location in our City and replace the existing Starbucks in the Huntington-Buena Vista Shopping Center.

DUARTE TO ENFORCE NEW FIREWORKS RESTRICTIONS INCLUDING FINES UP TO $1,000


DUARTE, CA, June 17, 2015 – The City of Duarte will be enforcing new restrictions on fireworks usage for the Fourth of July, 2015 holiday. Fireworks are only allowed to be discharged on the day of July 4th between the hours of noon and 11 p.m.  They are no longer allowed on the days leading up to the holiday.

DUARTE, CA, June 16, 2015 – A series of festive street banners displaying both the City and Special Olympics logos now decorate Huntington Drive in front of the Duarte Civic Center in anticipation of the City’s Host Town event entitled, “Duarte Day.”  The City of Duarte, in partnership with the cities of Azusa and Glendora and Azusa Pacific University (APU), are preparing to open their doors as a Host Town for the Special Olympics World Games Los Angeles from July 21-24, 2015.

THE GOATS ARE BACK TO CLEAR DUARTE’S FOOTHILLS


DUARTE, CA, June 2, 2015 – During early June, the Duarte’s hills, just north of the Arbor Nursery are welcoming back some hungry visitors.  Approximately 300 goats from Rancho Tivo Boer Goats are busy gobbling up over 13 acres of dry brush and vegetation.

DUARTE, CA, May 26, 2015 – The Duarte City Council recognized Mary Pat Paddock at the May 12th meeting as the City of Duarte Senior Center Volunteer of the Year for her outstanding efforts and positive contribution to the greater Duarte community.  The following week, on May 21st, Paddock was also recognized by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors at their annual Older Americans Recognition Day celebration.
