NAACP ACT-SO Local Competition, April 27 @ Noon, Duarte Senior Center

Duarte will again host the Pasadena-Duarte NAACP’s local competition of the Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO) for all high school youth, especially those of African American descent, on Saturday, April 27th from noon to 4:00 pm at the Duarte Senior Center located at 1610 Huntington Drive, Duarte, CA. The event is free, open to the public and all are welcome to watch the competition.  Over 40 students from five different high schools will be participating.  

Youth who achieve a gold medal in their category will proceed to compete in the National Competition to be held July, 2019 in advance of the 110th NAACP Convention in Detroit, Michigan. Since the Branch started competing in 2010, nine national medals have been won for the Duarte community.
